Over ten years, my dosages increased and became less and less effective and the stiffness and pain increased. Everyone reacts differently, but for me, the pain became almost intolerable as I took Parkinson’s related medication every three hours. Thanks God for DBS. I was up to 18 tablets a day. SINEMET is know to improve slow movement and muscle stiffness counteracting the lack of dopamine many Parkinson’s patient incur. Dopamine is a naturally occurring chemical produced by certain brain cells.

According to Healthline, “Sinemet’s mechanism of action (how it works) is by increasing the level of dopamine in your brain. Dopamine is a chemical that helps your brain control your muscle movements. Sinemet is used to treat Parkinson’s disease (PD) and certain forms of parkinsonism.”
